Coventry Public School’s Board of Education (BOE) Chairperson, Jennifer Beausoleil was designated as a Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) Master Board of Education Member in the CABE Board Member Academy.  The prestigious honor is earned by showing Leadership, Ethics, running Effective Meetings and a wide variety of skills, knowledge, and abilities.

 

This honor is earned with attendance at numerous Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE)/Connecticut Association of Public Schools Superintendents (CAPSS) Conventions, CABE workshops, programs, and other events. Through these events, Ms. Beausoleil has acquired at least 20 professional development credits, becoming a Certified Board of Education Member (CBEM). In addition, Ms. Beausoleil earned another 20 credits above and beyond CBEM level to achieve her Master Board of Education Member distinction.

Ms. Beausoleil was one of five academy members in the state recognized for this achievement.The professional development acquired includes a wide variety of skills, knowledge, and abilities in the following areas: 

  • Leadership
  • Effective Meetings
  • School/Community Relations
  • Strategic Planning
  • Group Dynamics
  • Board Member Ethics
  • School Finance
  • Labor Relations
  • School Law

“CABE is pleased to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of members of Boards of Education across Connecticut who have attained the Master Board of Education member level. Board members attaining the Master Board of Education Member level are recognized for their very strong, ongoing commitment to their own professional development and a willingness to address a broad range of relevant issues to [ensure] highquality educational opportunities for all students in Connecticut,” said CABE President Donald Harris.
